I’m Megan Rees, a licensed counselor serving clients in-person in Oakland and virtually throughout California.
I believe that work shouldn’t suck the joy out of life.
My goal as a therapist is to help you feel like yourself again.
Through therapy, you can transform your relationship to work, even if you can’t quit your job. It’s possible to regain your sense of purpose, develop skills for coping with stress, set boundaries with difficult people, and take back your power.
The results could mean a better time at work and more meaningful time away from work.
Megan is my go-to referral for those experiencing workplace-related anxiety and stress. She’s exceptional—deeply caring, intelligent, playful, and humble—and understands what it takes to heal from toxic workplaces. Highly recommend!
Jessica Engle, LMFT
Megan is one of the few human beings I have come across in my life who has the skill to put me completely at ease, to create an environment in which I can safely speak about even the topics that have persistently been the most painful for me. She is able to shine a light in the darkest of places and stand at my side as we look into them together, letting me see finally that things are going to be okay.

Megan is a committed, kind, and very generous therapist. I was fortunate to work with her and see her support clients with love and dedication through very difficult situations. Megan is also playful with a great sense of humor!

From our first session, we’ll be working towards your graduation from therapy. The first few times we meet, we’ll get to know each other and your needs. By the first month, we’ll create your therapy goals, and we’ll regularly check in and adjust where necessary.
Usually these problems are systemic. Feel free to let your HR or organizational development folks know that I give workshops to increase psychological safety for teams, and I provide leadership coaching. Contact me to learn more.
